Complete rooftop solar kits for 3 kW & 5 kW systems.
Explore two residential rooftop on-grid kit configurations, understand the key equipment and balance-of-system components, and request a configuration based on your roof, electricity use and site conditions.
Choose the kit capacity that fits your energy needs.
Both kit sizes use the same clear component structure. The equipment rating, module count, cable lengths and protection selection are configured to the approved system design—not guessed from a generic parts list.

3 kW On-Grid Solar Kit
A residential grid-connected rooftop system concept. Final module count, inverter model and electrical protection are confirmed after site assessment.
Every key component, clearly explained.
Use this itemised list to understand the equipment and small installation materials that make up a rooftop solar system.
Configuration transparency: This is a component checklist for kit planning, not a final bill of materials. Exact quantities, ratings and whether a protection device is built into the inverter or supplied separately are confirmed against the selected model and site design.
Waaree solar PV modules
Selected Waaree module series and wattage are confirmed for each kit.
Single-phase on-grid inverter
Deye, Waaree or Sungrow option, subject to the approved kit configuration.
Rooftop mounting rails & structure
Roof-compatible rails, support sections and structural members.
Mid clamps
Clamps that secure adjacent module frames to the mounting rail.
End clamps
End-of-row clamps compatible with module frame thickness and rail.
Roof feet, L-feet & base fasteners
Roof attachment feet, base plates, bolts, nuts and washers.
Solar DC cable – red & black
UV-resistant PV cable from module strings to inverter / protection point.
AC power cable
Cable between inverter output and the designated AC distribution point.
MC4-compatible connector pairs
Matched connector pairs for the approved module and string arrangement.
DCDB / DC protection arrangement
External DC isolator, SPD and string fuses where required by inverter design.
ACDB / AC protection arrangement
AC isolator or breaker and surge protection as required for the installation.
Earthing & bonding set
Earth conductor, bonding links and electrodes according to site design.
Lightning protection (if specified)
Air terminal / lightning arrester and down conductor, where required by design.
Conduit, trunking & cable tray
Cable routing and mechanical protection for exposed or concealed runs.
Cable glands, lugs & ferrules
Cable termination and entry accessories matched to cable and enclosure sizes.
UV ties, clips & safety labels
Outdoor-rated ties, cable clips, ID markers and electrical warning labels.
Inverter monitoring device
Wi-Fi / data logger or monitoring setup where supported by selected inverter.
Bi-directional / net meter coordination
Grid-interactive metering and utility application coordination.
Installation, testing & commissioning
Mounting, electrical connections, safety checks, configuration and handover.
Bidirectional / net meter availability, application process, inspection and related DISCOM charges are subject to the local utility. These items should be shown separately in the final proposal rather than assumed to be part of every hardware kit.
Components selected from compatible product ranges.
Manufacturer and model are confirmed for the final kit after checking compatibility, current availability and datasheets.
A kit configured around your actual site.
Choose 3 kW or 5 kW and tell us your city, roof type and electricity needs.
Roof area, shading, cable route and connected load are reviewed.
Module count, inverter model, string layout, protections and quantities are confirmed.
Installation, testing, commissioning and utility coordination are planned as agreed.
Frequently asked questions.
Common questions about 3 kW and 5 kW rooftop solar kits.
What is included in a 3 kW or 5 kW solar kit?+
A typical on-grid rooftop kit is planned around solar PV modules, a compatible grid-tied inverter, mounting structure, DC and AC cables, connectors, required DC/AC protection, earthing/bonding, cable routing accessories, monitoring where supported, and installation/commissioning scope. The final bill of materials depends on the selected equipment and site.
How many solar panels are required for a 3 kW or 5 kW kit?+
Panel count depends on the wattage and electrical characteristics of the selected module, the inverter's permitted PV input and the approved string design. It is finalised during system engineering; this page intentionally does not assume a fixed number.
Are the mounting structure and cables included?+
The kit component checklist includes the mounting structure, DC/AC cabling and installation accessories. The actual structure type and cable lengths are measured or selected for the roof and cable route and should be itemised in the final quotation.
Does the kit include a net meter?+
Net-metering equipment and approvals are generally handled under the applicable DISCOM process. Availability, charges, application and scope must be confirmed for the service area and should be stated separately in the proposal.
Will a 3 kW or 5 kW on-grid kit provide backup during a power cut?+
A standard grid-tied inverter normally shuts down during a grid outage for anti-islanding safety unless the system has a specifically designed backup-capable architecture. Do not assume backup from an on-grid kit; discuss a suitable hybrid or backup solution if power during outages is required.
Can I choose the panel, inverter and cable brands?+
Brand and model options can be discussed. The selected PV module, inverter, connectors and cables must be electrically compatible and supported by their manufacturers. The final proposal will identify the exact make and model.
